Description

Jamska

Jamska is spoken by 30.000 or more people. The vast majority of the speakers live in the Jämtland province of Sweden.

Jamska is generally regarded as a dialect of Swedish. Some, however, consider it a separate language, which is related rather to Norwegian than to Swedish.

First written sources of Jamska date back to the 19th century CE.
